We are excited to announce that Q Gardens is launching a rooftop beekeeping project! Earlier this year, we received a $1,200 grant from Citizen’s Committee for NYC that will allow us to set up two beehives on a nearby rooftop. We were lucky enough to identify two experienced, local beekeepers who will oversee the project in 2017. These beekeepers turned teachers will train six bee apprentices in the first year, working with them from March to November to make sure the hives stay happy and healthy.

We hope to train a new crop of community beekeepers each subsequent year of the project.  🙂
